What the New CRS Module Will Offer

In the new MOP, CRS is Module 4 (Batch 4 implementation — approximately T+21 months after contract signing). The new CRS module will include:

The existing crsbis.in portal will continue to operate during the transition to the new CRS module. BIS has contractually required the SI (System Integrator) to:

  • Run both systems concurrently during UAT (User Acceptance Testing)

Practical advice for CRS registrants: complete any pending applications, renewals, or standard revisions before the new system goes live (approximately 21 months after contract signing). Starting fresh processes on a new system is smoother than mid-process migrations.

When to Expect the New CRS Portal

Based on the tender timeline: if the contract is signed in mid-2026, the new CRS module would go live approximately around early-mid 2028. This aligns well with the IS/IEC 62368-1:2023 migration deadline of November 2028 — manufacturers will be filing their IS/IEC 62368-1:2023 Standard Revisions on the new, improved CRS platform.
