The new system will digitize lot inspection scheduling, sampling documentation, and result tracking with GIS geotagging of inspection sites.
BIS uses Outsourced Agencies (OSAs) for both field work (factory and market inspections) and desk work (documentation review). The new platform provides dedicated management modules for OSA assignment, performance tracking, and quality oversight — replacing largely manual coordination processes.
When a standard covered by an ISI mark licence is revised (as happens with IS 302 Part 1, IS 13252/IS 616 being replaced by IS/IEC 62368-1:2023, and many others), the implementation tracking module manages the transition timeline for all affected licencees.
