What the BIS GIS Module Covers

The GIS module integrates with all other Manakonline modules to provide location-based analytics and visualization across BIS's complete operational footprint:

• Heat maps showing density of BIS-certified manufacturers by state, district, and city
• Identification of manufacturing clusters (e.g., Noida electronics, Rajkot engineering, Tiruppur textiles)

Market Surveillance Intelligence

• Geographic mapping of market surveillance samples and failure rates

Hallmarking Coverage

• Map of all Assaying and Hallmarking Centres (AHCs) across India

Policy Implications of GIS Analytics

For the first time, BIS and DPIIT will have visual geographic intelligence about India's standards compliance landscape. This enables:

• Identification of areas needing new BIS branch offices or recognized laboratories
• Evidence-based reporting to Parliament on the state of India's standards ecosystem
